4th Grade Musical

So many exciting things happen during one's last year at Bayview Elementary. One of the most anticipated events is that of the 4th grade musical. Being that our school district is blessed with such a fantastic music department, this always is a joy for us to watch as parents. The kids are excited about how they perform, they are quite obviously having a good time, and it is one of those things that you are just proud as a parent to be attending.
Melissa was so excited to have landed a special part in this performance. Though not the part she originally had auditioned for, this role was even more perfect for her.....that of flag twirler. She has always talked about wanting this role in the marching band once she reaches high school...perhaps this is the first step? She had a front row position, took her role seriously, learned it well, had fun and was just so fantastically proud of herself, evidenced by the gigantic smile on her face after the show. From our front row seats, both Jonny and I were quite proud of her as well. The Grandmas said she did just as fabulously during the evening show. Way to go, Melissa!

Melissa is having a good year. She has been more confident this year, more sure with her interactions among friends, and continues to try new things. Such a nice way to end her elementary schooling run. Her plan remains to home school next year at the middle school level. Though sure to miss her friends a bit next year, she is anticipating a positive year at home in the fall.
